Guy is a superstar in the making. Over the past two years Guy has been the face of Bondi Harvest. His on-camera hosting and unique approach to food has attracted a loyal global audience.
Drawing from his own life this series will capture his naturally bright and likeable personality and un-intimidating approach to food. His hosting style is extremely natural and engaging. Full of youthful excitement for food and produce and people. His on-screen presences is one of a peep rather than a teacher. However his cooking skills speak for themselves once he has food in his hands.
Originally from Bowral in NSW, Guy moved to Bondi to study his chef’s apprentice 2003. Upon finishing Guy was snapped up to work in some of Sydney’s top kitchens including Est., which was named Australian restaurant of the year whilst Guy worked there.
A common love for surfing and food saw head chef Peter Doyle personally mentor Guy. Under Peter’s guidance Guy learnt all aspects of the kitchen, a career defining experience.
In 2007 Guy moved on to Bondi Icebergs, attracted by chef Rob Marchette’s simple, respectful approach to Italian cooking. In 2009 Guy bought a rundown business in North Bondi. From this start he created Jo and Willy’s Depot, a now thriving café and named in Sydney’s top ten brunch locations. Guy has complete creative control of the kitchen which gives him the opportunity to explore and refine his own food style.
A keen free diver, Guy and his mates go spear fishing most weeks and know where and when the fish are running in Bondi’s fertile waters. Always respectful to the sustainable catch, the boys are often seen carrying lobsters or king fish as big as your arm home for a cook up with friends.
Guy’s mission is to offer quick, easy, healthy recipes that showcases seasonal produce and super foods from the beautiful iconic location of Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
